One thing we're not short of at Sun Valley Jams is a diversity of acts playing in our Battle of the Bands series. You want the blues? We got it. Country? Check. Garage rock? Yep.
And it's always tied together by the veteran, professional musicians who know how to entertain the hell out of us with a solid set of covers.
Sunday, we had two of those acts.
The guys in Breach of Peace took time out of their busy schedules to blast us with some great hits such as Billy Idol's "White Wedding" and Maroon 5's "Animals." Here they take on Magic!'s "Rude":
Breach of Peace bass player Dave Schrader did double duty Sunday. He returned later in the day with his other band, American Idiot: A Tribute to Green Day -- which also includes lead guitarist Dan Elder of Hollywood 5, one of our Battle #2 bands.
It wasn't the easiest of days for American Idiot. Lead singer Eric Hendrickson had some technical problems with his guitar early and lost his voice at one point mid-set. But he recovered from both annoyances and the band killed with a high-energy performance.
