We're not calling it a day just yet.
Owners Lyn and Mark Balven have decided to stage a Fan Appreciation Concert on Saturday, Sept. 26, to thank everyone who supported Sun Valley Jams in its first Battle of the Bands season this summer.
Admission will be free. No tickets required. Just bring your lawn chairs and/or your blankets and kick back and enjoy the show.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. with Chesterfield band Whiskey Kick, which specializes in covering guitar-heavy acts such as Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains and Robin Trower among others.
Following at 9:30 p.m. will be the Josh Tyler Band, a group recently put together by outlaw-country musician Josh Middleton, a veteran of the Southeast Missouri music scene.
We'll preview these two bands for you as the time approaches. In the meantime, thanks to all who helped us through our inspirational as well as educational first season as concert promoters.
Come on out Sept 26. Spread the word. Bring some friends. Help us as we get bigger and better at this.
